How long has Jollytots Equestrian been trading, where are you based and what made you start Jollytots Equestrian?
Jollytots Equestrian started in 2011 after the birth of my daughter two years earlier. I found it impossible to find riding attire, especially a riding hat, for little ones – there really didn’t seem to be a one-stop shop to buy children’s equestrian clothing online anywhere! Jollytots is based on the south coast of Kent, just 500 yards from the sea, and whilst our customers are mainly from the UK we do ship abroad, to Europe and beyond.
What is your average day like and what has been your biggest challenge with Jollytots Equestrian?
An average day for us here at Jollytots is 9-6pm Monday – Friday, but we often work much longer than this and over weekends during busy periods. Since lockdown we have been exceptionally busy and have seen our orders increase by 50%! The hardest thing about running this business is simply not having enough hours in the day sometimes, as we have 2 young children and 2 horses to care for. The children are currently in training as stock runners taking orders from the store to the office….
What makes Jollytots Equestrian stand out from other Equestrian online stores?
Jollytots was the original one-stop shop for children’s riding wear. That was all we did and all we still do.
What is your most popular line in Jollytots Equestrian?
Our most popular lines have always been our huge choice of jodhpurs, boots, half chaps and riding hats. Our customers range from age 0-14yrs.
Is there anything new in the pipeline for Jollytots Equestrian?
We are always bringing in new lines of stock, we proactively search out products and clothing ranges that we think will suit our brand. The aim this year is to supply our own branded products as this has been on our ‘wish list’ for some time!
